Propaganda poster

Image
To make this poster I started with the self portrait. I began by outlining the features on my face then adding detail like eyelashes and shadows afterwards. Next I created the hand holding the can and the bottle "factories" in the background. The final part was the words. The words were by far the easiest part of this project. I think the most difficult part was either the self portrait or creating the bottles. The bottle shape was really frustrating and I could never get it right.      I chose to do my propaganda poster on recycling because it's something so easy and simple yet can be so effective. The tools I used for this project were mostly the pen tool. It was frustrating to use it for things like my eyelashes and the highlights in the hair but for everything else the pen tool was really easy to use.

Logo

The first image is the original sketch I designed for this logo. I wanted to incorporate my zodiac sign as well as my favorite flower, a violet. The bottom picture is the final black and white photo and the three colored version. I chose to do purple for the flowers because violets are purple and green for the stem to show a traditional flower. For the yellow one, I chose to do yellow and blue to represent stars and the night sky. The easiest part of this logo was creating the constellation since it is just straight lines and the most difficult part was making it so the flowers were visible even when the logo was small.

Calligram

For this project, I used the butterfly because it symbolizes freedom. and growth and that is what  I hope to achieve in 20 years. To make this I used the pen tool to create the outline of the butterfly then I filled it in using the text tool and the words from my letter to myself. The most difficult part of this project was drawing the butterfly. I had a hard time making it look even and getting the words to all fit in the space. I chose the cursive font because I thought it matched the delicateness of a butterfly and I picked a lavender color because it is my favorite.  Letter to myself: Dear Sinclaire,  It’s 20 years later and you’re now 38. Currently you’re sitting in class writing this letter even though it was due before class. This letter is for the next art project we’re doing and we’re trying to meet a word count.
